Study at an award-winning university
We were named Times Higher Education University of the Year 2023. We've also been awarded a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework – a reflection of the outstanding education we offer our students.
Develop in-demand professional skills and prepare for the initial stage of the SQE assessment.
Skills you’ll develop on this course include logical reasoning, critical analysis, research, and independent judgement.
You can boost your employability while you study by volunteering at our Law Clinic, as well as taking advantage of our ARUCPD offer and law-focussed careers events.
Graduation doesn’t have to be the end of your time with us. You could choose to continue your academic career with a research programme at ARU, such as our PhD Law. Take advantage of our Alumni Scholarship and save £400 on your fees.
Prepare for the initial stage of the SQE assessment and develop your legal specialism.
As well as three core modules relating to the SQE, you’ll study two or three optional modules, aligned to a particular ‘diet’. The diets on offer depend whether you choose to study in Cambridge or Chelmsford: see the modules and drop-downs below for diet breakdowns by campus.
You’ll top off your LLM with a major research practice on a relevant topic that interests you.
Modules are subject to change and availability, and may vary by location. If you have the choice of optional modules, these are indicated with a *.
