Dan Burdge is a Senior Lecturer in Law at Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Dan brings valuable real-world insights from his experience as a solicitor in England and Wales. His expertise spans diverse legal domains, including Land Law and Housing Law; Equity & Trusts and Succession Law; and Employment Law.

With a strong foundation in law from his successful legal career, Dan Burdge infuses his role as a Senior Lecturer with a unique perspective. He adeptly aligns his academic interests with practical experiences, making his teaching captivating and relevant for students. Through engaging lectures, Dan imparts his knowledge on Land Law, Equity & Trusts, Civil Litigation, and Employment Law to undergraduate cohorts, while skilfully guiding postgraduate learners through professional courses focused on Employment Law. Dan's commitment to student development is evident through his detailed assessments and constructive feedback, fostering their growth as future legal professionals.
Dan Burdge's academic journey extends beyond the confines of the classroom, as his passion for understanding how emerging technologies can be utilised in both legal practice and legal education drives his curriculum design, enriching the learning experience for his students. Beyond academia, Dan's experience in practice demonstrates his proficiency in conveyancing, wills, probate, employment law, and general litigation. Emphasising excellence in legal education, Dan's Fellowship with the Higher Education Academy underscores his dedication to elevating the learning experience for students and he has an interest in research around homelessness, land use and home scholarship.
In his spare time, Dan volunteers with a homelessness charity in Essex and helps to run his children’s football team. He also enjoys music, running, playing poker with friends, watching and playing sport, getting far too competitive at fantasy football, as well as spending time with his family.
