We want you to have a happy, successful time here at ARU and we have a number of services that can support you.
We were ranked 1st in the UK for health and wellbeing in the 2022 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings.
Your health and wellbeing is so important. No matter what your question or issue is there is always someone who can help you. Come and talk to us, you’re not alone.
Our health and wellbeing hub will tell you about all the services on offer at ARU, from wellbeing workshops to mental health support.
The Counselling and Wellbeing Service is free, confidential and available to all ARU students. You can talk to us about anything that’s worrying you – from minor concerns to major issues, from grief to relationship difficulties, panic attacks, exam anxieties, stress, and anything else.
We offer lots of support, from one-to-one counselling to 20-minute drop-ins, wellbeing workshops, online support with Silvercloud as well as many self-help resources.
ARU has a Student Sexual Violence Advocacy Service. Student Sexual Violence Advocates (SSVAs) offer practical support and advocacy around reporting processes; this includes reporting sexual misconduct to ARU or reporting to the police. SSVAs support students who have been subjected to any form of sexual violence, regardless of their age, gender, sexuality, background, when or where the sexual violence took place. Find out more about Sexual Violence Support.
Our Chaplaincy is available to all students irrespective of faith or commitment. It’s here to support your learning experience, including any spiritual and personal issues you might want to discuss in confidence. To access our Chaplaincy resource, visit our chaplaincy information on My ARU.
Making sure that you’re safe at university is a priority for us. We've introduced the SafeZone app to give you quick and easy access to ARU security and first aid, should you need it.
