Excited to go global with your career? Master the fundamental themes of international business and commercial law, and take your skillset to the next level.
Gain an understanding of the complex interplay between infrastructure, content, competition, social policy, punishment and trade in the international arena, and a greater capacity for legal communication.
Our small seminar groups will give you opportunities to really engage with the course material, share your interests and goals, and form close friendships with your fellow students.
You’ll develop a range of in-demand professional skills including logical reasoning, critical analysis, research, and independent judgement.
Empowered to critically appraise how international laws are created and enforced, and apply legal discourse to the regulation of transnational business, you’ll have insight into how the grammar of law was shaped that you can take all over the world after graduation.
You can boost your employability while you study by volunteering at our Law Clinic, as well as taking advantage of law-focussed careers events.
You’ll be well-prepared for international practice and academic research at the highest level as well as a range of other intellectually demanding roles, such as legal departments of international corporations, government departments and other international agencies.
Graduation doesn’t have to be the end of your time with us. You could choose to continue your academic career with a research programme at ARU, such as our PhD Law. Take advantage of our Alumni Scholarship and save £400 on your fees.
We’re here to help you develop your CV and find that all-important role after graduation. Our Employability Service offers tailored career appointments, advice on writing your CV, help to complete job applications, and much more. You’ll have 24/7 access to an online Careers Centre too, which is packed with useful resources.
The support continues after you graduate, with lifelong access to our Alumni Career Centre.
Learn the context in which international business takes place, including the need for regulation of international trade, and the legal frameworks behind it.
Delve into international commercial contracts, e-commerce and international intellectual property law. You’ll also examine and critically assess how businesses address commercial disputes in the context of globalisation. You can advance your knowledge of competition law, comparative company law, digital law or others by choosing from our optional modules.
You’ll build your skills in using electronic databases, academic writing, and referencing. You’ll develop your research skills, methods, and methodology too. This will stand you in good stead for your Major Project, where you carry out a research project from start to finish, supervised by a member of academic staff.
Modules are subject to change and availability, and may vary by location. If you have the choice of optional modules, these are indicated with a *.
