LLM Advanced Professional Legal Practice: SQE Preparation

At ARU, we understand that each student's journey is unique, so we offer the flexibility to personalize your studies. Our LLM incorporates training for the SQE with BARBRI which offers experienced and innovative legal education which has an integrated Personal Study Plan (PSP), your online, personalised study schedule that adapts to you. Your PSP is where you'll see what you've done, what's due and what's coming. But you also have your own learning style and schedule.

Our wide range of elective modules provides you with the chance to focus on particular areas of legal practice while integrating an interdisciplinary approach into your studies. This enables you to broaden your understanding by delving into contemporary and emerging disciplines both at national and international levels

Additionally, you'll be introduced to the essential practical legal skills covered in SQE2 and will have the opportunity to extensively explore your chosen specialisation through independent legal research enriching or introducing novel perspectives to the existing body of work.

You'll also have the advantage of acquiring crucial work-ready skills through our nationally recognised ARU Professional Development programme (ARUCPD). There will be opportunity to engage in research alongside accomplished scholars in our Centre for Access to Justice and Inclusion (CAJI) and collaborate with our legal partners to provide practical advice to real individuals as part of our award-winning Law Clinic.

On our LLM Advanced Professional Legal Practice: SQE Preparation course, you'll develop the transferable intellectual, academic, and interpersonal skills, as well as valuable graduate attributes that are relevant to the evolving demands of current and future work roles. Most notably, this course prepares you for the initial stage of the SQE assessment and supports you with your continuing professional development.

Whether you are studying remotely or on campus, you will have access to a number of Mac and PC suites on our campuses that are equipped with the latest software including the BARBRI platform, Office 365 and Microsoft Teams.
