Engineering and Built Environment Taster Day - Skills and Careers Exploration
Are your students passionate about solving real-world problems, thinking creatively and bringing ideas to life? Our Engineering and Built Environment University Taster Day is designed for aspiring engineers, surveyors and construction professionals who want to explore how they can shape a more sustainable and innovative future.
Students will take part in hands-on sessions in our labs and facilities, led by expert tutors. They’ll tackle challenges inspired by industry, exploring concepts such as meeting client needs, managing resources and designing with sustainability in mind.
With support from our current undergraduates, participants will gain a genuine insight into university-level study, ask questions about courses and student life and experience what it’s like to learn in a higher education environment.
This engaging taster day not only builds confidence and practical skills, but also opens students’ eyes to exciting career opportunities in engineering and the built environment.
British Science Week: Explore, Experiment and Discover a Future in STEM
This event invites KS4 pupils to explore the world of STEM through interactive workshops, live demonstrations and real-world challenges across psychology, sport science, computer science, life sciences and forensic science.
They'll get the chance to experiment in specialist labs and teaching spaces, discovering how these subjects are applied to solve real-world problems and shape everyday life.
They'll also gain valuable insight into university study and discover future career pathways, building confidence, curiosity and a clearer understanding of the exciting opportunities available in STEM.

Explore how engineers, architects and construction professionals design, create and improve the world around us.

Do you have students who love solving problems, thinking outside the box, and bringing ideas to life? This action-packed day is perfect for future engineers, designers, and builders.
Your students will dive into the fundamentals of engineering and construction, putting their creativity and knowledge to the test. With guidance from our current students, they’ll tackle everything from meeting client needs and managing costs to considering materials, risks, and the environmental impact of their designs.
