Recruit new talent or grow the skills of existing staff. This apprenticeship is ideal for healthcare professionals seeking to specialise in surgical care.
It's a hands-on course. Apprentices develop clinical skills in real-life situations and take responsibility for their patients, all while learning to work within legal, ethical, and professional standards. They'll learn to collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Our dedicated apprenticeship team is on hand to help you attract the best candidates for your organisation. We can help with:
crafting job advertisements
promoting your vacancy to our quality candidate mailing lists

sharing opportunities across our social media channels.
Our consultants can also help you to assess candidates' suitability.

An apprenticeship is a job with built-in training. It combines real workplace experience with structured academic learning.
All apprenticeships have been assigned a minimum requirement of off-the-job-training (OTJT) hours to comply with the Funding Rules. The off-the-job training helps them build the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the role and meet apprenticeship standards.
We’ll provide a clear block plan outlining university teaching days and assessment deadlines. It'll also include work placement days across anaesthesia, surgery and recovery. All in line with HCPC requirements.
Teaching is at our Cambridge or Chelmsford campuses (subject to numbers).

When they successfully complete the degree, they’ll finish the apprenticeship too and be ready to apply for HCPC registration.
This course meets the Health and Care Professions Council’s standards for education and training. So, when you successfully finish, you’ll be ready to apply for professional registration.
