SENE Electric Vehicle Fleets Audit

South East New Energy's goal is to understand and help remove the barriers that prevent us rapidly decarbonising our communities, buildings, transport and lives. As part of this we are seeking to work with businesses in Essex, Kent and Sussex to support them in transitioning their fleets to lower carbon alternatives.

Working with experts from ARU participating businesses will each be provided with a bespoke business model that supports their firm in moving a traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) to electric vehicle (EV) one. To do this, we take into consideration the following:

• The different operational costs for an ICE (Internal combustion engine petrol or diesel), EV (electric vehicle) and PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicles)
• Other financial impacts such as servicing, insurance, road tax, government subsidy, zero emissions zones, etc
• The broader implications of transitioning to EV fleets on your business's operations (e.g. off and on-site charging strategy)
• The use of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV): particularly for commercial vehicle fleets as a way to operate in zero emission zones and/or extend driving distance where charging is not possible due to time constraints
