Moving the Coordinates is an interdisciplinary performance installation combining choreography, dance film, photography, and augmented reality to explore how we inhabit and adapt to changing landscapes in the context of climate change.

The project brings together 12 international dance films within an interactive exhibition environment. Through mobile-enabled augmented reality experiences, audiences engage with additional layers of movement, sound, and storytelling, creating connections between physical, digital, and ecological spaces.

Building on the research underpinning Re-Shaping Landscapes and the award-winning dance theatre work Re-Shape-Land-Scape, the installation extends this enquiry into a gallery context. The work investigates movement as a means of engaging with environmental transformation, belonging, and collective ecological futures.

Research focus

Moving the Coordinates explores how creative technologies and embodied practices can generate new ways of experiencing and understanding environmental change. Through participatory engagement, the installation invites audiences to reflect on their relationship to place, ecology, and an increasingly interconnected world.
