We’re committed to doing all we can to reduce the environmental impact of traffic travelling to our events and promote the use of public transport wherever possible. You can often get free or discounted travel to our Undergraduate Open Days from our travel partners Stagecoach East and Greater Anglia. Please see below for current offers.
Stagecoach East is providing discounted travel via bus for our Cambridge and Peterborough campuses on Wednesday 6 August 2025.
Once you have signed up to an Open Day at ARU, we'll send you a discount code for 25% off a Small Group Ticket. You'll need to download the Stagecoach App, register for an account, purchase the Cambridgeshire Plus Zone Small Group ticket and use the discount code to get 25% off on the day of the event (you cannot prebook your ticket). This allows three people to travel for a full day on 6 August within the Cambridgeshire Plus Megarider zone.
Through the app, if you are happy to be updated, Stagecoach will provide you with details of bus services and fare offers which will be of use to you while studying at ARU.
For more information, visit the Stagecoach East website.
We've partnered with Greater Anglia to provide you with free train travel to our undergraduate Open Days.
You can claim a free ticket when accompanied by a fare-paying person.
Free travel is available for Open Days at ARU in Cambridge, Chelmsford, Peterborough and Writtle. (Important note for those interested in studying at Writtle: the 6 August open day for Writtle courses will take place at Chelmsford. Writtle campus will be closed on 6 August.)
To redeem the offer, you'll need to book your tickets by 9am five days before the event. Greater Anglia will then send train tickets to you by post.
If there are engineering works you may need to catch a rail replacement bus. Your free train ticket covers this bus travel.
