Entry requirements

Employers set out the person specifications for the role, but apprentices will need to meet our entry requirements to be accepted onto this course.

  • BSc Audiology (or equivalent).
  • Registration with AHCS as an Audiologist or HCPC as a Clinical Scientist.
  • Minimum Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent qualifications and meet age-related English and Maths requirements as outlined by the DfE.*
  • Employed in paediatric audiology, to be able to access apprenticeship funding.

Enhanced Clinical Practitioners must be registered with one of the statutory healthcare regulators, Social Work England with one of the following accredited voluntary registers: The Academy for Healthcare Science, Register of Clinical Technologists or Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists. They must undertake revalidation processes or audit of their continuing professional development where these apply.

Applicants who do not meet the published entry requirements will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the academic admissions tutor for the course. It is crucial that you present a CV and personal statement that enables the admissions tutor to understand why you are a suitable candidate in terms of your experience of the subject, academic ability to cope with Masters-level study, and ongoing work being in a suitable professional context to enable you to engage with the course.

All applicants must meet the eligibility criteria outlined by the DfE Apprenticeship Funding Rules applicable at the start of the course. If you have any questions about these entry requirements, please contact [email protected]

Fees and funding

Degree apprenticeships are a smart investment. You can reinvest Levy funds to cover the cost of an apprenticeship or receive funding support from the Government.

If you operate in England and your annual payroll is over £3m, you pay a levy of 0.5% of your payroll into a levy account.

Apprenticeships are paid for by your employer. You won’t pay any tuition fees on this course.
