Unlock your potential with endurance physiology testing

Endurance physiology testing offers athletes a powerful insight into how their bodies perform under sustained effort—helping them train smarter, race faster, and recover better.

Why endurance testing?

Whether you are a runner, cyclist, triathlete, rower, swimmer or even a team sport athlete, understanding your aerobic power and metabolic thresholds is key to optimising performance. Through advanced laboratory assessments such as VO₂max testing, lactate threshold analysis, and running or cycling economy evaluations, we can identify your individual performance zones and pinpoint limiting factors.

This data helps tailor your training to the exact needs of your physiology—ensuring every session moves you closer to your goals. Endurance testing is not just for elite athletes. It is for anyone serious about improving their fitness with precision. With clear, actionable feedback, you will gain the confidence to push your limits while minimising the risk of overtraining or injury.

What can be tested?

Our comprehensive testing options include:

  • VO₂max testing – Assesses your maximal oxygen uptake—the gold standard of aerobic and cardiorespiratory fitness. Ideal for endurance athletes looking to boost stamina and cardiovascular efficiency.
  • Lactate threshold testing – Identifies the point at which fatigue rapidly increases—knowing your thresholds allows for targeted interval training and better race pacing.
  • Economy – Submaximal efficiency—understand how economical you are during exercise. A fundamental component of endurance performance and a key responder to training.
  • Haematology – Find out how well you carry oxygen in your blood—learn about your haemoglobin and haematocrit scores, both of which relate to performance and recovery.
  • Body composition – Assesses your proportions of muscle, fat, and water to optimise health and track progress.
  • Lung function – Assesses the functioning of your lungs—identify any potential underlying health-related conditions.
  • Lower body power – Assesses lower-body power output, reactive strength index, and asymmetries using force plate assessments.
  • Range of motion – Assesses joint health, flexibility, and functional movement—detects limitations, imbalances, or stiffness that may affect performance, posture, or daily activities.
