Beyond the Label is a series of three targeted CPD sessions, created and delivered by qualified teachers, focused on strategies for engaging pupils who face significant barriers to higher education. One of the most underrepresented groups in university progression is white working-class boys — with current projections suggesting a boy born in 2016 is 75% less likely to attend university than a girl born the same year.

Our Train the Trainer model empowers teachers to deliver impactful, attainment-raising support within their own schools. Through structured training, staff gain the skills, strategies, and ready-to-use resources needed to confidently deliver a six-week programme to Year 9 and 10 pupils working around the Grade 4/5 boundary in English or Maths.
Designed to be sustainable and scalable, the programme builds staff confidence, strengthens teaching practice, and supports pupils to improve attainment, develop key learning skills, and better understand their next steps in education.
Supports students in building confidence with Shakespeare through interactive, accessible approaches to language, themes, and analysis.
Develops students’ creative and analytical writing skills, helping them to structure ideas, engage audiences, and write with clarity and purpose.
Strengthens communication, reasoning, and critical thinking skills through structured debate and discussion activities.
Builds financial literacy by introducing key concepts such as budgeting, saving, and making informed financial decisions.
Engages students in maths through real-life, practical applications using cooking contexts to develop problem-solving, reasoning, and numerical confidence.
