Co-ordinated by Neil Henderson, Deputy Head of the Cambridge School of Creative Industries, our Film & Media Saturday Club, which is supported by the British Film Institute (BFI), will see students work alongside ARU students, expert academics, and industry-leaders to celebrate and explore the breadth of film and screen from production, editing and sound design to VFX, scripting, animation and other forms of media practice.

Club members will develop practical and technical skills across filming, editing, sound, and lighting, as well as key transferable skills such as problem-solving, persistence, and collaboration. They will also enjoy national events such as masterclasses, and their own public exhibition at Somerset House.

The Club is seeking members who are passionate about Film & Media and who are able to commit to attending every Saturday during term time!

We are still open for applications. For further enquiries, please contact [email protected]

About our Saturday Clubs

Our Cambridge School of Art is once again teaming up with the National Saturday Club to deliver a bespoke programme of Art & Design workshops for Year 10 and Year 11 students in and around Cambridge. Excitingly, Cambridge School of Creative Industries will also be offering a new Film & Media Club.

Running in parallel, both fully funded opportunities will see students complete a 20-week programme delivered by our expert academics, providing an insight into university-level study and career paths, and culminating in a celebratory exhibition of their work at Somerset House.

Students are welcome to apply for both clubs, but if successful, would only be awarded a place on one.

"My daughter has made good friends, had fantastic experiences and has grown socially, emotionally, and academically as a result of the Saturday Club."

"Saturday Club? Well, it’s the highlight of the week, isn’t it?"
Club member, aged 14

The Saturday Clubs will be run in line with current COVID-19 Government and University guidelines. We encourage staff, students and visitors who attend campus to wear a face covering in all our buildings, unless exempt.
