Creative Forces Day - Chelmsford
You are invited to attend our Creative Forces Day in Chelmsford on 14 April 2027, run in collaboration with partners including Uni Connect, Make Happen and the SCiP Hub.
We're also offering Creative Forces Days in Peterborough and Cambridge.
This event is aimed at Service Children (both past and present!) to explore their unique identity, recognise the skills they’ve developed due to their background, and apply these to their educational and career goals.
There will also be current students from similar backgrounds that you will meet throughout the day, showcasing relatable role models for Service Children.
The CFD programme specifically addresses common barriers faced by Service Children, providing practical advice and support.
Who this event is for?
Service children* in years 7–13 and their teachers/advisors.
Although Creative Forces Days are designed to appeal to the military community, we would encourage service children to bring a buddy to learn and experience the day too.
What does the experience include?
- Pre-event assembly in school
- Age-appropriate seminar-style course taster session
- Subject-specific taster sessions
- Interactive identity session
- Age-appropriate lecture-style talk on the benefits of university
- Information, advice and guidance talk
- A session focused on the support available to Service children through their educational journey
- The chance to ask current university students questions about student life
- A tour of our campus
Is there funding for travel?
Make Happen will be providing travel bursaries for students who attend the Chelmsford event.
