IPPPRI host webinar on addressing safeguarding issues in Homes for Ukraine scheme
On 21 July, members of ARU's International Policing and Public Protection Institute hosted a webinar, 'Experiences of Professionals Addressing Safeguarding Issues in Housing for Ukrainian Refugees'. You can now watch it online.
In the webinar, Dr Ashley Perry, Dr Anna Markovska, and Dr Carter Smith discussed insights they gained from a Centre of Excellence for Equity in Uniformed Public Services (CEEUPS) project investigating the attitudes and experiences of professionals addressing safeguarding issues within the Homes for Ukraine scheme.
These findings will illustrate the vulnerabilities faced by Ukrainian refugees, particularly for women and children, in search of housing in the UK. They will also inform how we can prevent and combat exploitation of this and other vulnerable populations in the future.
