CEEUPS partners with Canadian counterpart CIPSRT to enhance public safety and wellbeing

At the #CIPSRT2025 Conference, ARU and the University of Regina, Canada (UoR) signed a groundbreaking research agreement to enhance safety and well-being in the uniformed public services.

This agreement enables CEEUPS to work alongside UoR’s Canadian Institute for Public Safety Research and Treatment (CIPSRT), an organisation that serves as the Knowledge Exchange Hub for knowledge synthesis, translation, and exchange that relies upon the best contemporary research evidence supporting an overall mission to help current and former public safety personnel, their leaders, and their families to maintain and improve their mental health and wellbeing.

This partnership will drive joint research, knowledge exchange, and evidence-based strategies to improve mental health, resilience, and operational effectiveness across the sector.

"I am absolutely delighted to see the partnership between CEEUPS and CIPSRT. Bringing knowledge and research evidence from the work going on in Canada in relation to the wellbeing of public service workers and collaborating on future work is an exciting step for our Centre."

Prof Emma Williams, Director of CEEUPS

As part of this collaboration, members of ARU and CIPSRT’s research and professional services teams travelled across Regina, Saskatchewan, engaging with public safety personnel from Fire & Protective Services, Emergency Medical Services, and Police Services. These visits provided valuable insights into day-to-day operations and highlighted opportunities for integrated approaches to building stronger, more resilient public safety systems globally.
