Learn how to select, evaluate and justify the use of various research methodologies and methods, in preparation for your major project.
This module will give you a critical overview of the research processes used within nursing and midwifery and will help you to write a research proposal for your Level 7 Major Project.
With prior knowledge of some research approaches at Level 6, you’ll hone your ability to synthesise and transfer knowledge and evaluate and critically analyse sources.
You can learn face-to-face on campus, or you can study by distance learning. Whichever method you choose, you’ll access content online and will also have an appointed supervisor to support your learning. You’ll submit an assignment electronically.

This module is taken by students on a variety of Masters courses. You'll usually learn alongside a group of students who bring different academic and/or professional interests to their study.
The teaching and learning strategies we use on this module take into account the features of postgraduate study, including independent and self-directed learning, interdisciplinary discussion and exploration of themes and issues, and the ability to synthesise and transfer knowledge across specialisms. You'll be expected to complete some reading to prepare for each session.
