On this NMC-validated course, you'll learn about assessment, care planning, causes and interventions in mental health nursing. We'll also cover the experiences of people from different demographics and backgrounds; and biological, psychological and social factors that can impact on mental health, and you'll develop leadership and management skills.
You'll learn in our state-of-the-art nursing skills labs, as well as through hands-on placements, and graduate ready to practice as a knowledgeable and compassionate registered mental health nurse.
We also offer: Postgraduate Diploma Nursing (Adult) and Postgraduate Diploma Nursing (Children).

Our Postgraduate Diploma is approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in the UK.
This means you’ll be eligible to register in an additional field of practice when you graduate – and start work as a mental health nurse.
We're here Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm (please note we close at 3.30pm on the first and third Thursday of the month for staff training), and Friday 9am-4.30pm.
As a student at ARU, you’ll spend 50% of your time in practice with a qualified district nurse as your Practice Assessor. It’s a great way to refine and develop your skills.
