Supply Chain Leadership Professional

This apprenticeship prepares professionals for senior roles like Supply Chain Executive, Chief Supply Chain Officer, Supply Chain Management Lead or Demand Planner.

They’ll typically work closely with a company’s executive team or report to commercial, operational or supply chain directors. Responsibilities may include managing teams, budgets or business units – sometimes across multiple locations.

It’s a great fit for organisations of any size, in any sector, whether that's public, private or charitable. You can use it to grow your own talent or create a new role to bring fresh thinking into your business.

This degree apprenticeship gives your employees the knowledge to manage every part of the supply chain. They'll cover topics from buying and warehousing to transport and global strategy. They’ll use the same digital tools found in international trade and learn how to tackle real issues like sustainability and net zero.

As well as technical skills, they’ll build confidence in leadership, project management and problem-solving – all while applying what they learn at work.

An apprenticeship is a job with training, combining practical experience with academic learning.

All apprenticeships have been assigned a minimum requirement of off-the-job-training (OTJT) hours to comply with the Funding Rules. Your account manager will advise you and your apprentice on how these OTJT hours are planned.

Your apprentice will use this time to develop the knowledge and skills needed to meet the requirements of the apprenticeship. Therefore, not part of their usual work duties.

The off-the-job learning is delivered through:

• a week's block face-to-face workshops at ARU Peterborough at the beginning of every trimester (Sept, Jan and May),
• fortnightly timetabled online lecturer-led webinars,
• practical learning experiences in their usual work setting.

All assessments allow your apprentice to prove their learning. As well as make sure they are developing the abilities and skills you need to complete the course.

Assessments use a variety of authentic assessment techniques. These reflect real-world activities and include group and individual presentations, reports, posters, contribution to online discussions, plans, case studies, online tests, and interviews. We'll support apprentices to develop the academic skills required to undertake these assessments. There are no written exams.

Your apprentice will need to complete an End Point Assessment (EPA). This is through a major work-based project that will benefit your business. Example projects are inventory reduction, use of lean practices or tracking multiple outcomes of a supply chain process.

The Supply Chain Leadership Professional Degree Apprenticeship programme costs £21,000 for levy-paying employers. This can be covered by funds in your levy account.

If you exhaust the funds in your levy account, you will pay only 5% of the cost of the outstanding fees. The Government pays the remaining 95%.

The Supply Chain Leadership Professional Degree Apprenticeship programme costs £1,050 for non-levy-paying employers.

You will only pay 5% of the costs of the apprenticeship programme. The Government pays the remaining 95%.
