Programme content
APM membership
Our programme has been aligned to the APM Project Management Qualification. Furthermore, your apprentice will become a full APM member when they complete.
The course lasts for two years. After that, apprentices have up to six months to finish the End Point Assessment and complete their apprenticeship.
All apprenticeships have been assigned a minimum requirement of off-the-job-training (OTJT) hours to comply with the Funding Rules. Your account manager will advise you on how these OTJT hours are planned. This means your apprentice will learn during normal working hours, either at their workplace or elsewhere. However, this learning is not part of their regular duties.
Off-the-job learning comes from university-led sessions and practical experiences in their work setting.
Apprentices will attend 16 days of face-to-face workshops each year at corporate venues in Cambridge or Chelmsford. These workshops are led by specialists and practitioners in the sector.

They’ll also complete an End Point Assessment (EPA). The EPA is independently assessed and occurs after all on-programme assessments have been passed.
APM membership
Our programme aligns with the APM Project Management Qualification. So, when you finish the apprenticeship, you will earn an extra UK and internationally recognised award from the APM.
While studying, you will become a student member of the Association for Project Management. You will gain full membership upon completion. This gives you access to the association’s vast resources and networking opportunities.
An apprenticeship is a job with training, combining practical experience with academic learning.
All apprenticeships have been assigned a minimum requirement of off-the-job-training (OTJT) hours to comply with the Funding Rules. We’ll advise you and your employer on how these OTJT hours are planned. This time is for building the knowledge and skills you need for the apprenticeship. It is not part of your regular work duties.
You'll have 16 face-to-face workshops each year at corporate venues in Cambridge or Chelmsford. You'll also gain practical experience in your regular work setting.

Fees and funding
Degree apprenticeships are a smart investment. You can reinvest Levy funds to cover the cost of an apprenticeship or receive funding support from the Government.
If you operate in England and your annual payroll is over £3m, you pay a levy of 0.5% of your payroll into a levy account.
The Project Manager Degree Apprenticeship programme costs £22,000 for levy-paying employers. This can be covered by funds in your levy account.
If you exhaust the funds in your levy account, you will pay only 5% of the cost of the outstanding fees. The Government pays the remaining 95%.
The Project Manager Degree Apprenticeship programme costs £1,100 for non-levy-paying employers.
You will only pay 5% of the costs of the apprenticeship programme. The Government pays the remaining 95%.
Apprenticeships are paid for by your employer. You won’t pay any tuition fees on this course.
