This pathway starts with a Level 4 Construction Site Supervisor Apprenticeship. Successful progression enables progression to our Level 6 Construction Site Management Degree Apprenticeship, dependent on the employer’s organisational needs.
Looking to become an apprentice but not yet in a job role?
The journey to safe, competent construction management starts with the Construction Site Supervisor Higher Apprenticeship. It’s the first part of a two-part pathway to being a Construction Manager.
This Level 4 apprenticeship builds the knowledge, skills and behaviours required of Construction Site Supervisors and complementary roles. Apprentices gain practical skills and experience on the job, whilst studying for a CertHE without the tuition fees.
Employers can reinvest their Levy to cover the cost of training and secure a pipeline of talent within their organisation.

Programme content
Accredited by Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ)
These qualifications have been developed by awarding bodies in collaboration with employers so apprentices can develop the skills that employers want.
The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) approves each new HTQ as meeting the knowledge and skills needed by the sector.
The Construction Site Supervisor Apprenticeship is delivered over two years, plus up to six months for the End Point Assessment.
All apprenticeships have been assigned a minimum requirement of off-the-job-training (OTJT) hours to comply with the Funding Rules. Your account manager will advise you on how these OTJT hours are planned. This means that your apprentice will be learning during normal working hours either in their place of work or outside – but not part of their normal working duties.
Apprentices attend university-led workshops on a day release basis at either ARU Peterborough or our Chelmsford campus as part of their off-the-job learning hours.
Apprentices are assessed at the end of each module (on-programme assessments) which will contribute towards their final award. They will also undertake an independently-assessed End Point Assessment (EPA) to complete their apprenticeship when all on-programme assessments have been successfully passed.

An apprenticeship is a job with training, combining practical experience with academic learning.
All apprenticeships have been assigned a minimum requirement of off-the-job-training (OTJT) hours to comply with the Funding Rules. We will advise you and your employer on how these OTJT hours are planned. This time will be dedicated to developing the knowledge and skills needed to meet the requirements of the apprenticeship and therefore is not part of your usual work duties.
The off-the-job learning will be delivered through university-led learning sessions and activities, and practical learning experiences in your usual work setting.

Fees and funding
Degree apprenticeships are a smart investment. You can reinvest Levy funds to cover the cost of an apprenticeship or receive funding support from the Government.
If you operate in England and your annual payroll is over £3m, you pay a levy of 0.5% of your payroll into a levy account.
The Construction Site Supervisor Higher Apprenticeship programme costs £9,000 for levy-paying employers. This can be covered by funds in your levy account.
If you exhaust the funds in your levy account, you will pay only 5% of the cost of the outstanding fees. The Government pays the remaining 95%.
The Construction Site Supervisor Higher Apprenticeship programme costs £450 for non-levy-paying employers.
You will only pay 5% of the costs of the apprenticeship programme. The Government pays the remaining 95%.
Apprenticeships are paid for by your employer. You won’t pay any tuition fees on this course.
