How to apply for the Coach Academy - 2026/27

Develop your coaching. Build your experience. Shape your future.

The Coach Academy is a development opportunity for current ARU students who are interested in developing their skills within sport, gaining a recognised coaching qualification and exploring a future career in coaching. This year, the Academy will support students across archery, badminton, football and rowing, providing a combination of formal coach education, practical experience and ongoing development.

If you're selected for the Coach Academy, you'll have the opportunity to gain a beginner coaching qualification, receive mentoring and support from the Sports Club Development Officer, and put your learning into practice through practical coaching opportunities within our university sports clubs.

Alongside developing your coaching skills, the Academy will help you build valuable leadership, communication, organisation and employability skills, whilst contributing to the continued development of our sports club pathways.

Whether you're considering a career in sport or simply want to develop your skills and experience alongside your studies, the Coach Academy provides an opportunity to gain experience, qualification and connections that can support your future.
