Late arrivals

You’re expected to come along to all the events in your course induction programme, but if you can’t make it, don’t panic. There will be an opportunity for you to catch up on what you’ve missed.

Please note: The information on this page is for late arrivals only. If you're arriving on time, please see our Welcome Week page.

Collecting your student ID card after Welcome Week

Depending on your arrival date, you can collect your ID card from the registration hubs or from the iCentre in Cambridge and Chelmsford, the Student Support Desk in Peterborough, or the Student and Library Helpdesk in Writtle.

If you’re an international student, make sure you bring your passport with you on the first day.

Get in touch with your faculty

Your faculty will help you settle in and get started. They’ll let relevant staff members know about your arrival, help you access and understand your timetable and answer any questions you have about starting your studies late.

You can get in touch with them by email or Ask ARU:

Faculty of Business and Law: [email protected]

Faculty of Health, Medicine and Social Care: [email protected]

Faculty of Arts, Humanities, Education and Social Science: [email protected]

Catch up on your induction

Induction sessions were recorded and uploaded to Canvas, so you can watch them in your own time and catch up on what you missed. Whether you’re studying on campus or online only, these sessions are relevant to you.

If you have any questions about your induction, speak to your faculty.

Get a Welcome Buddy

If you’re an undergraduate student, you’ve been matched with a Welcome Buddy. They’re here to help you settle in during the first few months and beyond. Keep an eye on your ARU email for a message from the Welcome Buddy team with a link to your chat space.

If you have any questions, reach out to [email protected]
