The ECBB 2026 theme is Animal Behaviour in the Anthropocene. Suggested topics for symposia and presentations include, but are by no means limited to:
To submit a symposia proposal, please complete our Symposia Submission Form (Word doc) and email it to [email protected] by 31 January 2026.
Please title your form as follows: Symposia Submission - surname (affiliation) – for example Symposia Submission - Smith (Anglia Ruskin University)
Each symposium should have a chair and co-chair, both of whom should be registered for the conference and be attending in person.
Each symposium should be of 60-120 minutes duration. The symposium organisers can choose to have up to two invited talks (25 + 5) min, followed by contributed talks (12 + 3) min. All speakers need to register for the conference and attend in person.
We encourage proposers to allow for additional contributed talks to be submitted to the symposium, and plan their invited talks accordingly.
Upon selection of a symposium proposal, the proposers would be required to ensure that the speakers submit their abstracts and register on time. Speakers should submit the abstract within the deadline in order to be considered as a speaker for the symposium.
The abstract submission deadline will allow proposers whose symposia have not been selected, to submit abstracts for contributed talks.
The organisers of ECBB 2026 will not be able to bear the financial responsibilities for the registration, travel or local accommodation of the symposia organisers and speakers.
We urge all symposia proposers to be aware of the need for diversity and inclusivity while selecting the speakers for their symposia. This will be an important criterion in selecting the proposals.
Submissions for oral/poster presentations will open on 31 January 2026. We'll let you know if you've been accepted to present a paper or poster in June 2026.
Please note that all abstracts that pass screening for ethical standards (follow ASAB guidelines) will automatically be accepted as a talk or poster. An acceptance of contribution letter for visa purposes can be requested from the organising committee.
