Thom is a lecturer in games design, experienced in tabletop and computer games design, with interests in player centric design, player learning and balance. He is Course Director for ARU's BA (Hons) Computer Games Design in Chelmsford.

Background

Thom is an independent games designer, having produced tabletop and computer games, with a variety of skills in game design and development. Thom is particularly interested in designing experiences for time-poor gamers, creating engaging and meaningful experiences that can be enjoyed in short bursts.

Thom is an experienced educator, having taught games design across various levels since 2016, with experience in designing for learning and supporting a wide range of student needs. Thom maintains strong links to the gaming community, being part of a network of working professionals and educators.
