Paul has many years of experience as a Paramedic and senior education manager in the NHS with a focus on education and preceptorship in the Paramedic profession.

Background

Paul joined Essex ambulance service from the civil service in 2003 as an ambulance technician and studied Paramedic science at the University of Hertfordshire before becoming a Paramedic in 2006. He held various clinical roles before he became an instructor and taught on the final IHCD Paramedic course at Chelmsford in 2009.

Paul finished his full-time career in EEAST as Head of Education in early 2019 where he was part of several national groups who developed the newly qualified Paramedic pathway and supported the transition to an all-degree profession by 2021.

Paul joined ARU in 2019 as a Senior Lecturer Practitioner and took over course leadership of the DipHE Paramedic Studies and is the admissions tutor for the BSc programme.
