Nusrat is an HCPC registered occupational therapist with clinical experience in paediatric occupational therapy. She has worked in community children’s and adult teams.
Nusrat joined ARU as a lecturer practitioner in 2024, having worked as a children’s occupational therapist since 2013. Her passion lies in helping children develop essential skills and achieve their full potential – whether it’s fine motor coordination, sensory processing, or daily living activities.
In her current role, Nusrat supports students by serving as a placement coordinator and part of the support team, ensuring they gain valuable clinical experiences. She takes great pride in being a member of our University's diversity group. Nusrat contributes to a more resilient and caring professional community by actively promoting inclusion and fostering a friendly atmosphere.
Nusrat’s research focuses on understanding the experiences of families with children who have long-term conditions or disabilities. It explores the impact on siblings, parental perspectives, and the effectiveness of support systems. Additionally, it investigates sibling advocacy and empowerment, aiming to promote resilience and inclusivity within families.
