Kelly joined ARU in 2023 from clinical practice. Kelly has over 16 years of experience as a qualified Operating Department Practitioner. She also maintains her clinical skills in practice to ensure her practice is up to date.

Background

Kelly is a qualified Operating Department Practitioner and is registered with the Health & Care Professions Council.

Kelly obtained her DipHE Operating Department Practice at ARU. She started her qualified career at Springfield Hospital, then moved on to Broomfield Hospital. It is at Broomfield where Kelly became a Senior ODP and gained experience in areas such as Maternity, Resus, paediatrics and out of hospital transfers. During her time in Broomfield theatres, Kelly became the acting Anaesthetic Lead.

Kelly is a trained Mental Health First Aider and is passionate about this area.

Seeing the emotional impact Covid had on both patients and staff has highlighted issues surrounding mental health and wellbeing. Kelly would love to explore this area in more depth.
