Our bespoke English language courses are tailored to your needs, and help you to achieve targeted outcomes. Focus on English language skills, language teaching, academic skills and more.

Course content

Our bespoke courses can include a range of English language or academic skills. We can be flexible on the number of hours included in your course and how it's organised.

Your course could include some of the following topics. Please note these are only examples and other options are available.

English language skills
  • Fluency focus – speak better
  • Reading, listening and writing skills – developing core skills
  • Pronunciation focus - improving performance and confidence
  • Contemporary vocabulary – expanding range and updating your knowledge
  • Grammar practice – using language accurately
Academic skills
  • Research and critical thinking skills
  • Expanding Academic Vocabulary (with reference to the Academic Word List)
  • Academic writing formats
  • Writing abstracts, accurate referencing and bibliographies

We can also include, as needed, visits, observations, specific experiential learning, and social programmes. Social programmes feature full- or half-day excursions to enhance your cultural experience in the UK while you study. These are by agreement but can include the following.

Course dates and fees

If you would like us to create a bespoke English language course for your organisation, please email [email protected] to discuss your requirements.

We can organise bespoke courses at any time during the year (including summer or winter programmes). The course fee usually includes campus or homestay accommodation, depending on your needs and availability. Our homestay accommodation provider meets the standards for registration with the British Council as a provider of homestay and student house accommodation for adults (18+) in Cambridge .

We usually offer our bespoke courses at Cambridge, but can also organise courses at other ARU campuses as requested.

Assessment

We can include a certificate of attendance for all bespoke language courses.

If you would like formal assessment – formative or summative – or reports, we can also arrange this.

We offer a wide range of English courses, including academic and general English, as well as providing English language support for ARU students during their courses. We can also offer summer programmes, English language assessment and bespoke courses for groups.

We can only accept participants aged 18 or over onto these courses.
