After postponing 2020's Alumni Awards due to the global pandemic, we were delighted to celebrate a number of inspirational success stories from our alumni on Thursday 29 April at our Vice Chancellor’s Outstanding Alumni Awards.
The awards were held to mark the success of our former students who have made a difference in their respective fields. After hearing many inspiring stories of our students, staff and alumni leading by example to support the frontline during the COVID-19 global pandemic, we also introduced two new categories to formally recognise and reward these individuals, who were awarded alongside our five shortlisted categories from last year’s event.
The ceremony was held virtually, and was compered by Professor Aletta Norval, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Education). During the course of the ceremony, we awarded nine winning trophies and four runner-up certificates.
The event was well attended, with alumni from the UK and overseas logging in to join us. To learn more about our winners and runners-up, watch the event.
