Higher Education has a responsibility to provide equality of opportunity for students from all backgrounds to access and succeed in their studies. In his Inaugural Professorial Lecture, Mat Timmis will reflect on how delivering equality of opportunity for all students requires higher education to adopt bold and innovative approaches within their ways of working. Drawing on innovations from across the sector, his own subject area of Sport and Exercise Science, along with his own research, Mat will highlight innovation and provide challenge.
Join us for the talk from 6pm and a free drinks reception from 7pm.
After completing an undergraduate degree in Sport Science and Football at Liverpool John Moores University, alongside gaining football coaching qualifications, Mat briefly worked in a semi-professional football environment. In 2007, Mat returned to study, completing a PhD at the University of Bradford and in 2010, joined Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), where he has remained ever since.
