Creative Methodologies: Exploring Equitable Voices in Research with Uniformed Public Services (Summer School)

Join ARU's Centre of Excellence for Equity in Uniformed Public Services (CEEUPS) for their first summer school, where you can learn how to use creative methods focused on equitable research design within the uniformed public services.

This summer school is for scholars, PhD researchers, and practitioners with an interest in research, equity and fairness. The three-day event will cover a wide range of topics, approaches and methodologies focused on collaborative research and creative design. This includes:

  • Research design with practitioners and hearing voice
  • Recognising the strengths of professional expertise and curiosity in research
  • Creative methodologies
  • Collaborative research outputs for knowledge exchange and impact
  • Trauma-informed research
  • Innovation in knowledge dissemination
  • Doing research and considering impact as a practitioner.

CEEUPS will provide en-suite accommodation at ARU’s halls of residence on campus. Breakfast, lunch and snacks will also be provided for the duration of the Summer School. There will be a networking reception with drinks and light fare on one evening.

Attendees will also receive a certificate of attendance for the Summer School, as well as a CPD certificate for the Critical Inking workshop.

CEEUPS are delighted to be able to provide scholarship places via application. To apply, send a 500-word personal statement to [email protected] by 10 July 2026, outlining your interest in the Summer School, your current area of work or vocation, and how participation will support your career development.

As scholarship places are funded and limited, we ask recipients to commit to full participation or provide as much notice as possible if circumstances change. Full terms and conditions will be provided at point of successful application.
