Our research cluster focuses on advancing transformative, consumer-centred circular economy pathways that integrate sustainable business models, eco-innovation and systemic transition approaches, emphasising how societal actors, policies and practices reshape production-consumption relations for sustainable and regenerative economic systems.
The Circular Economics cluster brings together interdisciplinary research focused on advancing transitions from linear, extractive economic models towards circular, regenerative systems. We examine how value creation, production, distribution and consumption can be reorganised to reduce waste, extend resource lifecycles and support long-term social, environmental and economic sustainability.
Our research takes a systems-level perspective on circular economy transitions, emphasising the role of eco-innovation, circular business models and policy frameworks in reshaping markets and organisational practices. Our members' research interests include product-service systems, circular supply chains, platform-based models and alternative ownership arrangements, alongside the institutional and regulatory conditions that enable or constrain their adoption.
