Our BA Film and Television Production course receives ten nominations

Following on from last year's impressive showing at the Royal Television Society East Student Awards, our BA (Hons) Film and Television Production students have received 10 nominations for this year's event.

Open to all educational institutions in the eastern region, the awards are judged by industry professionals, so this marks not only a great achievement by our students, but also the chance to have their work viewed by potential employers.

Five the nominations went to On The Ropes, written and directed by Mariana Vaz and produced by Jake Mounteney, which tells the story of a female boxer struggling to get back in the ring after the death her coach. It was nominated for Best Drama, Camera (Director of Photography Margarita Velentza, camera operator Charlie Fairclough), Editing (Freya Blake), Production Design (Ofelia Mura, Mariana Vaz, Margarita Velentza) and script (Mariana Vaz).

The other nominations were for documentary Tertiary Sound (also selected for the BFI London Film Festival last year) in the categories Factual and Sound (Solomia Dzhurovska, Luca Struijk, Cristi-Valeria Tomsa, Jared Guy); multi-camera television show Flat Pack Challenge, in the Entertainment category; and Relinquish for both Camera (Jamie Comer) and Editing (Joshua Panes).

The awards will be presented on the evening of Wednesday 4th March at The Assembly Rooms in Norwich. Our best wishes go to all our student nominees.
