This is a mandatory training course for all students but we understand that anyone who has experienced sexual misconduct and harassment might want to ‘opt out’. You can do so by emailing [email protected].
We make sure that when you tell any ARU staff member about an incident of harassment and sexual misconduct, you’ll receive appropriate information about the support and reporting options available to you.
All our staff complete mandatory training about harassment and sexual misconduct, including how to manage disclosures from students, reporting and support options and understanding ARU’s policies and approach.
Staff in front facing roles such as our Security Staff, Accommodation Staff, Student Advice and Support staff receive extra training which is relevant to their roles. All staff can request bespoke training depending on their role, which will be delivered within the relevant academic year.
All investigators of student harassment and sexual misconduct cases have had specialist training due to the nature of their role, and all decision makers, including disciplinary panel members have received appropriate training for the role.
