This course is for anyone who operates brushcutters and trimmers as part of their work in agriculture, horticulture, landscaping and grounds maintenance.

Entry requirements

We are governed by Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations therefore you will not be allowed to start the course without wearing steel toe capped boots or shoes, gloves and suitable protective clothing which provides full cover for arms and legs. We strongly recommend also wearing a high visibility vest and bringing note taking equipment.

You must bring your own Personal Protective Equipment as listed below:

  • Brushcutter face shield to EN166 and hearing protection to EN352
  • Safety glasses to EN166
  • Safety helmet to EN397 for protection against falling objects and overhead obstructions, incorporating ear protection to EN352. Under a mesh visor as face protection, safety glasses to EN166 must be worn as eye protection
  • Gloves - adequate to protect hands against flying debris
