Introduction

Join a timely debate about the role of Christian faith and theology in the contemporary world. This Masters degree is taught by Cambridge Theological Federation and accredited by ARU.

Throughout this course, you'll be supported to:

  • gain an in-depth understanding of some areas of theological and philosophical discourse in the contemporary academy, church and society. For instance, what is the relationship between faith and reason?
  • develop a critical understanding of the interaction between secularization and global shifts in the growth and decline of Christianity
  • develop theological skills to interpret the world from a theological perspective. For instance, how can Christian theology approach ecological issues? How are we to understand the central Christian virtue, love, in the 21st century? What is the most promising approach to ecumenism in contemporary theology?
  • explore in detail some issues of theological significance for the contemporary context.
