The Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) combines on the job learning with working towards a fully funded degree. All while earning a competitive salary and making a difference to East of England communities.
Upon successful completion of the recruitment process, frequent start dates are available. You’ll work alongside experienced police officers with work-based study and attendance at regional police training centres. Most of your training will take place on the job, working as part of your local policing team alongside experienced officers. You'll be fully supported in putting your learning into practice.
Training is delivered as a partnership between your employing Force and ARU. Most of your training will take place on the job. You'll be with one of the East of England police forces including: Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Norfolk and Suffolk.

Your learning will cover a wide range of policing topics from officer safety to emergency life support, safeguarding to crime investigation.
You’ll learn the operational policing skills based on a national policing curriculum to become a confident and competent member of your chosen police force.
You will need 2 A-Levels or equivalent.
If you would like to complete the PCDA but do not meet these requirements, your education and work experience may be considered, in particular experience as a Special, PCSO, Police Staff or a member of the Armed Forces. Please refer to the local force recruitment website for more details.
