It's an exciting personal development route for existing and aspiring managers seeking formal management qualifications, enabling you to continue to earn while learning and improve your management and leadership skills in the workplace.

Key facts

An apprenticeship is a job with training, combining practical experience with academic learning.

At least 20% of your contracted working hours will be classed as 'off-the-job'. This time will be dedicated to developing the knowledge and skills needed to meet the requirements of the apprenticeship, and therefore is not part of your usual work duties.

The off-the-job learning will be delivered through online University-led learning sessions and activities, one-day workshops, and practical learning experiences in your usual work setting.

The off-the-job learning for our Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship is delivered online, and workshops take place on our Cambridge or Chelmsford campuses.

You will be assessed at the end of each module you undertake (on-programme assessments) which will contribute towards the final award of your qualification.

You will also undertake an End Point Assessment (EPA) to complete your apprenticeship.

The EPA for this apprenticeship is independently assessed and takes place when all on-programme assessments have been successfully passed.

Chartered Management Institute

Our BA (Hons) degree is ‘dual accredited’ by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), meaning that it has already been aligned and mapped to the CMI qualification. This lets you gain an additional qualification as part of your academic studies, and access to the exemption (streamlined) route to Chartered Manager.

Whether you're looking to progress to your first management job, or you've got previous experience, this Chartered Manager degree apprenticeship will arm you with the professional skills and knowledge you need to enhance your management career.

The content and delivery of our management degree has been designed to equip you with core management skills and knowledge to make an increased contribution at work. The work-based project gives you the opportunity to focus on topics relevant to your employer, and to make recommendations for improved business performance.

Job roles may include any role where there are significant management responsibilities such as Manager, Senior Manager, Head of Department, Team Leader, Supervisor or Operations Manager.
