It's an exciting personal development route for existing and aspiring managers seeking formal management qualifications, enabling you to continue to earn while learning and improve your management and leadership skills in the workplace.
With the full range of business skills, including managing people, marketing, finance, planning and strategy, leadership and sustainability, you will learn how organisations operate and compete - and how, by applying these management skills, you can help them achieve their strategic ambitions. Study while you work on our blended learning degree apprenticeship course and take your career to the next level.
This course is ideal for a new to post manager or anyone aspiring to be a professional manager in the private, public or third sector. It’s relevant to all sizes of organisation. Our BA (Hons) degree is ‘dual accredited’ by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), meaning that it has already been aligned and mapped to the CMI qualification. This lets you gain an additional qualification as part of your academic studies, and access to the exemption (streamlined) route to Chartered Manager. A CMDA takes four years to complete and offers you the additional benefits of CMI Affiliate Member status from the start of your course.
Learning for our Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship is delivered online, with workshops taking place on our Cambridge or Chelmsford campuses.
If you have successfully completed a relevant qualification, it may be possible to reduce the number of credits you need to study through Accreditation of Prior Certificated Learning (APCL). We can look at the qualifications you have to see if they can be matched to the course content. This may mean you can reduce the overall time it takes to study the course. Examples of qualifications that existing students have used to reduce their study duration include CMI Level 5 Diploma in Business and Management and OCR Level 4 Diploma and Level 5 NVQ Diploma.
If you think you may be eligible to benefit from APCL, please contact us at [email protected]for more information.
An apprenticeship is a job with training, combining practical experience with academic learning.
At least 20% of your contracted working hours will be classed as 'off-the-job'. This time will be dedicated to developing the knowledge and skills needed to meet the requirements of the apprenticeship, and therefore is not part of your usual work duties.
The off-the-job learning will be delivered through online University-led learning sessions and activities, one-day workshops, and practical learning experiences in your usual work setting.
The off-the-job learning for our Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship is delivered online, and workshops take place on our Cambridge or Chelmsford campuses.
You will be assessed at the end of each module you undertake (on-programme assessments) which will contribute towards the final award of your qualification.
You will also undertake an End Point Assessment (EPA) to complete your apprenticeship.
The EPA for this apprenticeship is independently assessed and takes place when all on-programme assessments have been successfully passed.
