Here’s a step-by-step guide on what to expect when applying an ARU apprenticeship.
See our page about how to apply: Where can I look for degree apprenticeship opportunities?
Applying for an apprenticeship is like applying for a job, so be sure to apply by the deadline on the advert.
You can apply for as many apprenticeships as you like to increase your chances of getting recruited. (If you're applying for a degree apprenticeship job, you don't need to apply through UCAS.) See our tips on writing a successful job application.
Just like a job, if you get shortlisted by the employer, you’ll be invited along to a job interview. We recommend that you prepare thoroughly as you'll be asked about your understanding of the job. See our interview tips.
Degree apprenticeship courses with ARU
If you're successful in securing an apprenticeship job, your employer will give you a link to apply for the related apprenticeship course.
Once you've submitted your application, we’ll check your eligibility for funding and start the process of registering you for your apprenticeship. This will include the necessary contracting to secure your funding.
Apprenticeship courses with Writtle College
You can apply for a Level 2 or 3 apprenticeship at Writtle College before securing an apprenticeship job. Please note that you will still need to secure an apprenticeship job. By completing the application form, you let us know about your interest. We may be able to match you with employers if opportunities come up.
Your new employer will get you started in your new job. You should expect an induction, and you may be buddied with a mentor.
We’ll let you know when classes start, where to go, and what you’ll be learning.
