Library and IT

Student holding books in library

We've made sure that our campus libraries are packed full of the equipment and resources you need.

For detailed information, visit our library website.

Our friendly and expert ARU library staff are always on hand to offer guidance and support. We have a team of subject librarians who not only provide a comprehensive programme of study and information skills training, they also work closely with our tutors and tailor services to meet your needs.

You can make use of our handy self-service facilities too - including borrowing, returning and reserving books, and photocopying.

We have a huge online collection of e-journals, e-books and databases, and they're all available 24/7.

During semesters, our campus libraries in Cambridge and Chelmsford stay open 24 hours during main assessment periods and in each library you'll find a significant collection of course-relevant materials. There are plenty of study spaces, including group work zones, silent study areas, multimedia playback, networked PCs, wireless connectivity, and standard IT applications.

In Peterborough, the Reading Room has spaces for quiet individual study and networked PCs, with comfortable areas for group work spread throughout the University House building. You'll have access to e-books and other online resources for your course via your reading list.

And in Writtle, the campus library offers a specialist book and online journal collection, study space for individual and group work including a number of fixed PCs, wi-fi access and printing facilities. You'll also find the HE Hub for individual and group study; and a dedicated FE Learning Hub. The Writtle library catalogue can be accessed at https://librarycatalogue.writtle.ac.uk/

The best part of my study is my access to a large database of research materials from the library and access to world renowned databases such as the IEEE, Wiley and a host of others
