Q. Hello Phoebe, what have you been doing to keep fit this year and during the last lockdown?
A. Lots of Running, I find running a great way to keep fit and de-stress at the same time. Getting myself into a routine to go running after 4pm every day is a good way to keep in a healthy routine. My house mates and I all set ourselves a target to achieve after lockdown (with a day to achieve it on) these include 5km, 10km and attempting to run 20 miles or 26 miles.
Q. What’s your top piece of advice for staying in good health during the different levels of restrictions and lockdowns that we’ve experienced recently?
A. Lists. Write down what you would like to achieve by that day or week and then it's clear in your mind and you can start crossing them off once you have achieved it, and you start to feel good about yourself once you have ticked them off. Getting outside for some exercise even if it’s just a walk to the shop is a great way to make sure you are getting some fresh air. Also scheduling in face time to see friends who I can't see as they are at home or other universities.
Q. What is your personal sporting highlight of 2020?
A. Beating my pervious half marathon personal best (now 1:41) after bouncing back from injury.
Q. Finally, what is your main sporting goal or thing you’re most looking forward to doing in 2021?
A. Fingers crossed I get a place in the ballot for the 2021 London Marathon and also hopefully winning the Challenge Cup this year against UEL.
