#ThinkBigARU pitching competition

We are delighted to announce a new pitching competition, #ThinkBigARU. We are now on the look out for student and graduate entrepreneurs who have a business idea and want to take it further.

It is a fantastic opportunity open to all students and recent graduates (up to 12 months) who have a start-up idea, to gain experience pitching to real business people and potential investors. You will also be able to seek additional support and advice via mentoring.

The pitching competition is a collaboration between ARU and ARU London and events will take place on our Cambridge, Chelmsford and ARU London campuses.

Are you ready to pitch? Find out more in the FAQs!

Who can enter the pitching competition?

Any ARU or ARU London student and recent graduate (12 months).

Can non-ARU students enter?

A: Yes, but at least one member of the team must be an ARU/ARUL student.

How do I enter?

Via an MS Teams form: #ThinkBigARU Pitching Competition

Those applicants chosen to go forward will also have the option to provide further supporting evidence for their pitch (e.g financial projections, market research).

What is the deadline for entries?

All entries must be received no later than midday on 1 March 2023.

When will I find out if I have been selected to pitch?

Notifications to entrants will be sent out by 6 March 2023.

What dates will the pitches take place?

You can choose one of the following dates/campuses:

  • ARU London campus (Charterhouse, Farringdon) - Saturday 11 March 2023
  • ARU Cambridge campus - Saturday 18 March 2023
  • ARU Chelmsford campus - Saturday 22 April 2023

Will I be guaranteed investment?

No, investment is not guaranteed, as your business would need to be at an appropriate stage and a good match for the investors, but you could be in with a chance to receive up to £10,000 to take your idea to the next level.

Feedback on your pitch will be provided and you may then have the opportunity to re-pitch at a future event.
