We are delighted to announce a new pitching competition, #ThinkBigARU. We are now on the lookout for student and graduate entrepreneurs who have a business idea and want to take it further.
This is a fantastic opportunity open to all students and recent graduates (up to three years) who have a start-up idea to gain experience pitching to real business people and potential investors. You'll also be able to seek additional support and advice via mentoring.
The pitching competition will take place on our Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough campuses.

Any ARU student or recent graduate (within the last three years).
A: Yes, but at least one member of the team must be a current ARU student or recent graduate (up to three years).
You can enter by filling in our MS Teams form, which includes a section to provide a link to your one-minute video pitch – don’t forget to clearly state the problem or customer need, your proposed solution, and your vision for success.
All entries must be received no later than midday on 20 November 2023.
Notifications to entrants will be sent out by 4 January 2024.
You can choose one of the following dates/campuses:
No, investment is not guaranteed, as your business would need to be at an appropriate stage and a good match for the investors, but you could be in with a chance to receive funding to take your idea to the next level.
Additionally, other support from Entrepreneurs in Residence (EiRs), Anglia Ruskin Enterprise Academy (AREA) and specialist advisers will be available to help you take the next step.
Feedback on your pitch will be provided and you may then have the opportunity to re-pitch at a future event.
