How to join
Interested in joining one of our sports clubs? It's easy. Just follow the link below to complete the process online.
There’s opportunities at the start of each term to attend a free taster session for your chosen sport. See a full timetable of when these sessions take place.
Following the taster sessions you’ll need a sports club membership if you wish to continue attending training sessions and to represent ARU in competition.
The membership fee for the 2024-25 academic year is £85, which will include:
- Membership of a sports club – you can join up to two additional clubs for just £20 each
- Endsleigh Elite Personal Accident Insurance
- Access to training and facilities
- Access to coaching (where the club has a coach)
- BUCS competition entry and affiliation fees
- Transport to and from BUCS away matches
- Officiating costs
- Provision of match kit
- Sports club hoodie
Membership can be purchased online* or at Helmore Gym, Mildmay Sports Centre or The Old Factory. If you’re joining more than one club, these need to be completed in separate transactions.
All students and staff at Anglia Ruskin University already have an online booking account that can be used to book onto fitness classes, Campus Sport sessions, or Sport Club sessions. To book, you will need your ARU email address and your online booking account password (this is not the same as your ARU IT password). If you do not know your password, you can request a new password to be sent to your ARU email address.
