Talks and sessions

Students using the Bloomberg Lab at Chelmsford Campus

We offer free information, advice and guidance (IAG) to staff and students from Year 6 to Year 13 across the Eastern region.

Our team offers a range of higher education activities on campus in Cambridge, Chelmsford, and Peterborough or in your school or college, which inform and prepare students for university.

We can also tell you more about degree apprenticeships, which are ideal for school leavers looking for an alternative to full-time university education. At ARU, our range of degree apprenticeships is growing and we work with a number of employers who recruit to apprenticeship roles.

Here is a taste of the talks and sessions we can offer.

  • Personal statements
  • Why go to university?
  • How to choose a course
  • Student finance and budgeting for university
  • Parents' talk
  • Subject tasters
  • Introduction to degree apprenticeships
  • Study support sessions
  • Research skills sessions
  • Campus tours led by our friendly and informative Student Ambassadors
  • Student life talks from our Student Ambassadors. These talks, typically held at your school or college, go into detail about our students' progression to studying at ARU and life as a university student.
