Dr Dannielle Green: From plastic waste to environmental protection

Dr Dannielle Green leads pioneering research into how plastics – from everyday waste to cigarette butts – affect ecosystems and wildlife.

Dannielle's work at ARU has shown the widespread impact of microplastics and helped inform global policy, including the United Nations’ Global Plastics Treaty, now supported by more than 170 countries.

The research shows that recovery is still possible. By changing habits and reducing pollution, we can make a real difference for our planet and its species.
