The Africa Research Interest Group (AFRIG) held our first Africa Day celebrations at ARU in Chelmsford, with a fun family day celebrating African culture, dress and contemporary issues.
The day, 25 May 2025, included discussions around the role of education in the community, and especially the African community. We reiterated our commitment to the African community with an offer to keep them more informed of our activities and research.
The highlight of the day was a discussion about different countries’ clothes and the meanings behind outfits, how and where and when they were worn.
