Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE)

PIER is working on a Dawes Trust funded, national research programme into the investigation and prevention of child sexual abuse. The programme is titled 'Investigation and prevention of online and contact child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and the criminal justice response to perpetrators of these crimes'.

We are working with national stakeholders to develop this strategic programme of work to be delivered over four years that allows us to respond nimbly to emerging new issues and adjust to areas of emerging operational need.

The programme has valuable input from a Task and Finish Group made up of national stakeholders from the National Crime Agency, Home Office, College of Policing and Vulnerability Knowledge and Practice Programme. They will help shape the research agenda and drive the translation of research into policy and practice. We will report directly to the online CSA National Prevent Board.
