Yazan is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon specialising in breast cancer surgery, reconstruction and innovative surgical techniques. His academic interests include clinical research, surgical education and improving outcomes for breast cancer patients.

Background

Yazan is a Consultant Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon with expertise in breast cancer surgery, breast reconstruction and advanced oncoplastic techniques. His clinical work centres on personalised, evidence-based care, combining effective cancer treatment with the best possible functional, aesthetic and quality-of-life outcomes for patients.

His academic interests include breast cancer research, surgical innovation, clinical trials and medical education. He is Meetings Secretary and a Trustee of the Association of Breast Surgery in the UK (ABS) and serves on the International Committee of the American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS). He is also the founder of iBreastBook, a free global educational platform supporting healthcare professionals across more than 100 countries.

He is a widely published academic, with more than 90 peer-reviewed publications and an h-index of 21. His research has contributed to the evidence base in breast cancer surgery, oncoplastic practice and surgical education.

Recent presentations and conferences

Yazan is Meetings Secretary and a Trustee of the Association of Breast Surgery (ABS) in the UK. Working alongside colleagues, he has principal responsibility for developing and planning the scientific programmes for the Association’s annual conferences from 2024 to 2029.

He is regularly invited to speak at major national and international conferences, including the American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS) Annual Meeting, the Barcelona Breast Meeting, the London Breast Meeting and Breastanbul, among many others.
